On the afternoon of September 28th, the Institute of International Relations (IIR) held a consultation on “Frontier Research on International Issues” on main trends of development in international relations research. Based on their expertise, researchers from Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shanghai Institute of International Studies, and the IIR discussed the current research frontiers of international issues, future academic growth points, and the development characteristics of Shanghai’s international relations research.
YU Nanping, Professor from the Institute of International Relations and Regional Development of East China Normal University, FENG Yujun, Vice Dean of the Institute of International Studies of Fudan University, ZHAO Long, researcher from the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, ZHU Jiejin, Associate Professor from the School of International Relations and Public Affairs of Fudan University, and YE Chengcheng, researcher from the IIR, presented issues on the global industrial chain and China-US economic and trade relations, China-Russian relations in the context of China-US competition, the impact of new research themes on international relations, globalization and de-globalization, and big data and digital economic revolution. In the discussion that followed, WANG Jian, Director of the IIR, along with IIR researchers LI Kaisheng, KE Jing, and CHEN Yong, exchanged their opinions with the experts. Finally, YU Jianhua, Deputy Director of the IIR, summarized.
