On September 11th, DU Xijiang, Director General of the Strategic Planning Department and the Belt and Road Financial Research Institute of the Export-Import Bank of China (China Eximbank) , LI Xiaowei, Deputy Director of the Research Institute, WANG Yijian, Director of Research Department of the Belt and Road Financial Research Institute visited the Institute of International Relations (IIR). The delegation held a discussion with WANG Jian, Director of the IIR, and LI Kaisheng, Deputy Director of the IIR, along with WU Zelin and ZHANG Qun, researchers at the IIR. Issues of discussion included the current development and cooperation intentions of both parties, region and country studies, and international environment and high-quality development of the Belt and Road.
WANG Jian introduced the historical heritage, development orientation, research features and achievements of the IIR. He stressed that IIR, relying on its advantages of theoretical research, is committed to yielding better research results and serving the development of China and Shanghai by strengthening exchanges and cooperation with policy-making bodies. The high-quality development of the Belt and Road is one of the important research directions of the IIR. On the strength of its region and country studies, the IIR can cooperate with the Belt and Road Financial Research Institute of China Eximbank to carry out related projects.
DU Xijiang introduced the development status, research focus, and cooperation intentions of the Belt and Road Financial Research Institute. He pointed out that since the two sides have different focuses on country studies, he looked forward to the two sides learning from each other and forming complementary advantages through exchanges and cooperation. LI Xiaowei introduced the domains and directions of potential cooperation between the two sides.
