Wang Jian
Dr. Wang Jian is a professor of history and international politics at Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS). His research has mainly focused on global strategic studies,Jewish studies and the Middle East studies. He is the author or editor of “One Belt One Road”: A Vision for the Future of China-Middle East Relations, Escape and Rescue: Jewish Refugees and Shanghai in World War II, Jewish Refugees and Shanghai, History of Jewish Social Life in Shanghai, Jewish Cultural Map of Shanghai, Revitalization of the Jewish People,On the development of SCO: from perspective of Regional Public Goods.
He now serves as director of Institute of History in SASS, director of Center for West Asia and North Africa Studies (CWANAS) of SASS, vice president of Shanghai Association for International Studies, and deputy dean of the Center of Jewish Studies Shanghai.
From 2001 through 2002, he was visiting scholar in the Truman Institute at Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel. He was invited by U.S. Department of State as International Visitor and visited 50-plus government departments, think tanks and universities across the United States in 2003. In 2004, he held visiting fellow of the Center for Security and Cooperation at Stanford University and worked in CISAC's Project on Peace and Cooperation in the Asian-Pacific Region. In 2005, he was invited by Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to visited government departments, think tanks and universities there. He was selected as the delegate of the 21st Asian Young Leadership Forum initiated by Asia Society of the United States in 2006.
